Scholarships

The Scientific Committee is pleased to confirm that funds have been allocated to assist the attendance of individuals via scholarships. To date, scholarships have been awarded to:

  • Community participants
  • Physicians working in resource limited settings
  • Physicians from Thailand; and
  • Junior researchers.

Chilean/Ecuadorean Scholarship Programme

The application period for the above programme has now closed and applications are now under peer review. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application, latest by Friday 28 September. The Congress wishes to thank GSK Chile for making the Chilean/Ecuadorean scholarship programme available.

HIV Research Trust

The HIV Research Trust is a charitable foundation that provides financial support to physicians, nurses, scientists and other health care professionals in early/mid-career who are located in resource-limited settings from low-income and lower-middle-income countries working in the field of HIV infection. The HIV Research Trust came into existence as a charity using funds from the HIV Glasgow Congress. All aspects of research related to HIV infection and its consequences are eligible including clinical care, basic and applied biology, epidemiology, psychological, ethical, economic, educational and societal aspects. The support is in the form of scholarships which are of variable duration and cover course fees, travel, living expenses and consumables.
